A farewell or two

Turned out to be quite an eventful New Year's Eve. We knew Handyman (Sweetie's contractor) was coming to take the dining table and chairs, but didn't think it would stir up so much activity. Handyman and his friend took the table apart and carried it all away.

The upside? Having a huge open space in the dining/kitchen area.

But that wasn't all! Handyman asked if he could take the bedframes away too.

HM: So, today I take the bed also lah? (in Teochew)
LB: Huh?!?!?! I don't have 'heart inside preparation' (in Mandarin)
KK: Sure, onz, take it away!
HM: Ok ok, I give you... 5 minutes! You go prepare yourself. *laughs* Like that ah... ok ok lah, I come another day, also can.
FM: Troublesome or not? You have to come down again...
HM: It's ok... just that today got this other guy with me lah, easier. Then can one shot varnish everything - dining table, beds...  [Sweetie's using them in her new place]
LB: Huh... but I'm not prepared. ... Ah, ok lah. Let's go.
FM: Good what, anyway, in the new house, we're almost sleeping on the floor. Might as well get used to it now.

So that's exactly what we did. Quickly pulled the mattresses off the master and 2 single beds. Over the next hour or so, Handyman and his friend took the beds apart and carried them all away.

And we had some fun cleaning up after the beds went out.

So it was - farewell to some big pieces of our history and story...
