The things that come to light

Didn't know that right up in a corner of our storeroom, Finance Minister had kept the cocktail bowl and cups she used for her and Granite Man's wedding, so many years ago (in fact, the wedding party was held in our old/current place - have the pictures to show for it). Finance Minister just told me today that they had the party at home, unlike others who had lavish banquets, coz they didn't have much spare cash... I told her that's how the North Americans do it anyway, so it's still quite cool :-)

I haven't seen one of these things for a long time. The one we'd kept was completely glass, with interesting patterns of grapevines on it (hmm, maybe not exactly a good metaphor/imagery to have for a wedding...) But, we decided to give it away in the end. Figured we'll never use it, so why bother?

*     *     *

After a whole day of running between both places and getting stuff over to the new place, Finance Minister & I came back for a good rest. But not before we had to fight one of the last few Xiao Ming we'll see in this place. OK, he was so big, we should call him Da Ming. More of his kind coming out to play as people in the neighbourhood move out. We extinguished him after a fierce battle involving soap, fire, acid and hot water...

Now for some peace and quiet.
