Advent

Expectation. Anticipation. Preparation. Coming. Arrival. It is Advent. An unusual Advent. One filled with dust, boxes, sand, cement, furniture and photos. Yet also one filled with dew, ribbons, flour, memories, relief and a great yearning for rest.

Today we meet Owl again at 5pm. I think to finalise carpentry details. The oven's coming in late - not sure how that changes things. Can't recall what has happened to the kerb - will find out later. Granite Man heard from the electrician that Owl's baby boy has arrived! Kyle. Check with him later. Perhaps that's why there haven't been bleeps on the radar.

[Was hoping for a bleep. We have found another dining light that we like. We just don't know where to get it. The one place we know of only has a broken set, which isn't for sale. Eyoi yoi, where art thou?...]

But what joy to welcome a baby! I hope the electrician's right. What shall we give Owl, wife and son???

Yesterday Granite Man and Finance Minister celebrated 32 years of marriage. Cafe Swiss was unmemorable. The 32 sent-to-office roses were much better. In the midst of Advent, don't forget to celebrate what already is.
