Type A: Attentive & Adorable

Recently realised that it's been ages since I posted here! I live online now at seventhirtyjourney, so seldom come over to this place. Although, when I do - and read some of the past entries - I never fail to be amused or cheered. That is, perhaps, one of the beautiful things about journalling.

Anyway.

We were up to one of our we-just-decided-last-night-we-would-eat-this-today dinners. Thankfully Finance Minister is very clever and resourceful, so spontaneity doesn't faze her. It was Granite Man's 'fault' - he'd persuaded Finance Minister to buy some nice big portobello mushrooms from the wet market the Sunday before; they were quite cheap. She dug them up last night and started to worry that they would spoil.

Portobellos are special mushrooms (well, they are to me!), so I was horrified at her suggestion to do 'normal' things with them. The easiest non-normal thing to do with portobellos is to bake them. So that's what we did :) Everything else was, really, just by-the-way :)

Here's when I was reminded that Finance Minister pays a lot of attention to detail -
LB: Don't load on too much cheese, else it'll melt, spill and drip all over. And too salty. Just enough would be just nice.

FM: Oh... then we don't use small pieces lah. Let's cut the cheese into nice circles to fit the mushrooms...

LB: ?! No need lah! So troublesome. Just use the pieces, else by the time we finish cooking, time to sleep already!

FM: No no, it's ok, very easy one...

LB: LOL! Ok, if you insist. In that case, make the circles just nice to fit the underside - follow the inner circumference :p

GM: What kind of mushrooms did you say they were again?FM: Port-o-bellos... GM: How do you spell that?FM & LB: P-O-R-T-O-B-E-L-L-OFM: Like, Port + Belly (Bello)GM: Ok.LB: *facepalm*FM: He obviously likes them. First, he sees them at the market and remembers that we bought and baked some before. Then, he persuades me to buy them again. Now, he wants to remember how to spell them. Confirmed - he likes them.

Adorable - portobellos, and my folks :)
