Moving again! Never imagined. But here we are. And so here I am, reviving this blog. Many of the links on this page are probably outdated; it's been 7 years after all.
If friends didn't say so, I wouldn't have known that I made my decision in a super short time. Viewed 11 flats over 4-5 days in November-December, and agreed on a price with Mr Seller by Week 3 from the first day I Googled "resale flat West Singapore". As of today, we are waiting to have our first cup of tea with the Board.
Finance Minister, Sweetie, and Karate Kid have been so sporting. Many hilarious moments. From the unit with ancestral altar dating back to Qing dynasty, to the one where the agent patiently listened to FM's stories about our chubby wubbies, to the lovely 4-roomer that would cost as almost much to hack and renovate as to buy... Sweetie has a certain demeanour that made it easy for her to 'interview' potential neighbours and find out more about sellers and living environment, and Finance Minister has no qualms expressing doubt. Over coffee one evening, FM blurted out to Agent Z (representing Mr Seller): "How do I know Mr Seller is REAL?... How do I know YOU are REAL?" LOL! To his credit, Agent Z kept a straight face, quickly and earnestly pulled out his e-profile and swiped through it, showing FM his licence number and "see, I have no awards"... >.<
It will be a good time to do a major clean-up, throw-out, give-forward. Am thankful that a few friends (with excellent taste) have given sound advice and volunteered themselves as furniture kakis, happy to come along to sniff out gems in hidden places.
The more I think about it, the better the whole decision feels. A Pray-As-You-Go devotional early this year asked, "What is something in your life for which the fullness of time has come?" Perhaps this is one of the things :)
