The Big Fry. Beaten egg. A queue. Dunk in egg, roll in crumbs, onto tray. Fry in oil, drain on towel, cool on tray. Finance Minister did this 60 times over. *hats off* Best eaten soon after frying, though it's probably most 'heaty' then :p
We had leftover potato mash, so did a side experiment. We layered the mash with sliced red and orange bell peppers, and topped the dish with sliced cheese. Popped it into the oven for 20min. Fried up an onion sauce to go with it. Passable. Fun to experiment though :)
Onion sauce (WIP)
1 white onion, chopped (if you can mince it, even better)
0.75 - 1 cup chicken stock, mixed with 0.5 tsp Marmite and 1 tbs ketchup
7 tbs low fat milk
knob of butter
Salt
Pepper
Cornflour
Saute onion with butter till onions are translucent and fragrant. Add stock a bit at a time, stirring well. Add milk a bit at a time, stirring well. Add cornflour according to desired viscosity of gravy. Add salt and pepper to taste.
